Introduction
Wabala Studio is an avant-garde user experience (UX) research and content studio that works with SaaS companies to increase product-market fit. They were looking to create a visual identity from scratch before their product and website launch.

I developed the visual identity closely with the founder to reflect a unique brand that provides an inviting, collaborative service that highlights action-oriented and clear results for tech companies looking to utilize UX knowledge for their digital products.
The process included a brand and visual audit to determine the elements that would make this studio unique from the others. Getting to the heart of the brand narrative was a studio that highlighted the importance of a welcoming yet refined client-consultant relationship that sought to humanize the tech process. This resulted to moving away from tech-y visual elements as seen in SaaS industries and adopting a minimal but colorful visual style inspired by brutalist graphic design.

Process
The length of time allotted for this project allowed us to carefully select a brand that resonated with the founder. Following stylescape directions and brand identity workshops, I conducted audience research to ensure the branding accurately resonated with their target market. Creating the visual identity with the logo first, we found typefaces that perfectly fit the preferences of the client. The studio icon is based on the letter "W" from Wabala Studio, which looked similar to East African mosaic tiles that held personal significance for her.

After establishing the visual identity, one notable project was the creation of a deck of cards that would support the founder in her UX workshops and as a product to sell her audience. With a custom packaging idea, I collaborated with a packaging designer to prepare the file for print. These 3 series of card decks represented different aspects of the UX process and each were assigned a brand color supported by the main Wabala green for differentiation.
